In a remote town in North Alaska the remaining population is just getting ready for 30 days of polar night, when a group of blood-thirsty vampires/zombies hit the town for a blood feast. Sherrif Hartnett is leading those trying to survive the onslaught. Barely original horror movie is an umpteenth paraphrase of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, only here it's 30 NIGHTS. The acting is substandard, including Hartnett's. What keeps this movie alive is some flashy directing, excellent, grisly special effects and Huston's frightening turn as the monsters' leader.
