US-debut for Asian shock artists the Pang Brothers is needlessly stupid and illogical ghost story set in rural North Dakota, where McDermott and his family have just bought a derelict farm that turns out to be haunted. Dozens of potent scares and shocks, kudos to the directors, but it's all for naught with such a contrived, conventional story. Worst of all, perhaps, the title is never explained.
