Stevenson's classic Treasure Island, this Japanese children's anime is nice for kids, okay for adults. Jim receives a treasure map from Long John Silver and joins some pirates in the search for the legendary island. Quite violent, full of action, but plot is too often interrupted by silly comedy. Hayao Miyazaki was key animator and story consultant on this. His girl heroine is one fierce chick. English title: ANIMAL TREASURE ISLAND.
